ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Nine-month-old Therese C. Dougoveto was born to eternal life on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at the University of Michigan Mott Children’s Hospital, into the arms of her family.
Thérèse was born on May 22, 2021, with trisomy 18, a condition with multiple underlying health issues. After her birth, she spent two months in the NICU, then seven wonderful months at home with her family.
Thérèse is survived by her parents, Joe and Mary Ellen (Muir) Dougoveto of Ann Arbor; his brothers, Dominic, John, Paul, Charles and Isaac Dougoveto; his grandparents, Ron and Mary Muir of Phoenix, Arizona and John and Sharon Dougoveto of Iron Mountain; his aunts and uncles, Mike and Theresa (Muir) Weiland of Phoenix, Reverend Father John Muir of Phoenix, Luke and Katy (Muir) Crawford of Pittsburgh, Kevin and Andrea Muir of Phoenix, Walter and Kim Dougoveto of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Andrea Dougoveto of Plymouth, Michigan, Angela (Dougoveto) Oller of Iron Mountain, Tom and Maria (Dougoveto) Erickson of Iron Mountain, Luke and Anna (Dougoveto) Condit of Ann Arbor; and 37 cousins.
Thérèse blessed her family with many peaceful days in their arms, loving and being loved. His beautiful presence will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, February 20 at Dougoveto Home at 5315 Sutton Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. A funeral mass will be held Monday, February 21 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Ann Arbor, with 9 a.m. pre-visit at church. Lunch and funeral to follow.
