President Pendarovski learned that Embla Ademi was discriminated against at her school because of Down syndrome. He met the child and accompanied her to the primary school, Edinstvo, in the town of Gostivar.

Down syndrome is a genetic condition that causes learning disabilities and other health problems. According to Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Down syndrome is a condition in which a child is born with an extra chromosome. This extra copy of the chromosome affects the child’s brain and body, causing mental and physical challenges for the child.
